After a long, stressful day or week, sometimes there is nothing better than just dancing it out. Dancing does wonders to relieve stress and anxiety as it allows you to open up your spirit and just move. Along with stress relief, dancing also gives you a total body workout and can help to tone the temple that is your body. Not only is dancing a great workout and beneficial to your body, it is just fun. Moving in whatever way feels best for you, dancing has a magical way of clearing your mind and soothing your soul.
If You Can Move You Can Dance
But what if I can't dance? Pish posh! Forget that! Most of us probably won't look like the likes of Fred Astaire or Beyonce (incredible groovers truly) when we dance, but who cares? The point of your dance party should be to release whatever negativity you have coursing through your life at the time. If you are self-conscious about how you look when you dance, have a dance party by yourself. By having a 'for your eyes only' dance party, you won't add any extra stress to your situation by having to worry about what others think. People may think you're a bit loopy when you tell them about it (most likely though, their apprehension is stemming from jealousy of not having danced the previous night away), but you'll be too calm and stress free to worry about their judgments. For those of you who think single dance parties are cooky, get over it already and try it! Dance party for one, sign me up!
Have a Dance Party
For those dancing souls that prefer some attention, grab your friends and get grooving! Go out for a night of dancing to ensure that all eyes are on you. Having a dance party with your friends is a great way to add some laughs into your day. Although this isn't to say that, if you have a solo dance party, you won't be laughing. I usually end up laughing regardless of whether or not I am alone.
Maybe it's the healthy benefits. Perhaps it's the thrill of being seen by fellow dancing onlookers. Whatever your reasons for dancing, just make sure you have fun doing it. Life is too short to be stressed or upset, so take JLo's glowing advice and "dance the night away"!
